Erie's 24th annual Eerie Erie
Contributed by: Brad Beck on 10/31/2006

On a beautiful Saturday morning, on Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m., 575 runners, many in costume ran in the 24th Eerie Erie.

This annual 5K / 10K race is a fundraiser for the Optimist Club of Erie.

The service organization, known as the Friend of Youth club allocates all the money raised from this event to provide programs and scholarships for the children of our community, according to Brad Beck, president of the club.

"We have a wonderful group of sponsors and volunteers, that help our dedicated members to make this a fun and worthwhile event for the community."

There were 310 - 5K finishers. 225 - 10K finishers. And dozens of children enjoying the Goblin Run.
