Seniors swing into 2007
Contributed by: Marty Garrison on 9/19/2006

The EASY-C is a non-profit group which was formed approximately four years ago. We are a totally volunteer group that was formed to assist seniors in the Erie area.
We have been fund raising for over a year to assist the Town of Erie with the area of the recreation/senior center that is currently due to open in December 2007. We have sold water at concerts in the park, held pancake breakfasts, and even sold candy and childrens sun visors at Biscuit Days. All of this is to provide a new and accessible space for all seniors to enjoy. We currently meet at an old dingy church hall that is painted PURPLE.

One of our recent endeavors was to begin a WELCOME SENIORS program. We are sending out a saturation mailing to all households in Erie so we can touch each individual senior and invite them to lunch and to participate at a reduced rate in programs and trips that are available to them.

We are also looking into furnishing the new area with computers, a pool table, and a coffee area for socializing. All of this will be done through grant and contributions.
Please review our request for a grant and know that it will be appreciated and valued by all the seniors who use the new facility.
