BCH Hosts Free Lecture in Erie on Tuesday, June 9
Shoulder pain is common among swimmers. Repetitive overhead swimming strokes can put stress on muscles or tendons and cause "swimmer's shoulder," a common overuse injury. Fortunately, with proper exercises and stroke techniques, the risk for developing this painful condition can be reduced.
Physical therapist Allyson Friday, DPT, with Community Medical Center will discuss swimming biomechanics and stroke techniques that can prevent injury. Every swimmer from beginner to elite can benefit from her practical training tips. The free, one-hour health lecture will be held on Tuesday, June 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Erie Community Center, located at 450 Powers Street in Erie.
Registration is required. Attendees should call 303-926-2550; sign up online at www.eriecommunitycenter.com (enter activity number 7506.206); or register in person at Erie Community Center.
