Blog Entry 20 of 190 From the mountains to 6th Avenue
Many Evergreeners commute. It's been described as a commuter community. Accurate. So there is an etiquette to commuting. The first rule: Leave early. Even if you depart for a 9 to five job at 6:30 a.m., you will not be alone. If you like being alone on the highway, go to Montana. The second rule: Leave early If you don't get off til 5 p.m., take a book on tape, because you will be sitting in traffic near Federal and 6th, and entertainment of any kind is helpful. There are polite drivers, like me, who let others sneak in, especially in merge lanes. I try. You probably do too. The one thing I have decided that will not happen to me is that I will not be mangled in a car wreck on 6th Avenue or I-70 in either direction. What do you do to keep this promise to yourself?

Having fun with family

It's not earth shattering news. It's not even news. It's a blog.
It's recreational, personal.

Went bowling for the first time in many years.
Met up with my boys and took my niece from California and husband.

We had a great time. And although I don't need to reveal scores on the first game, on the second one I got 102.

We went to Brunswick Lanes in Lakewood

This could be Green Mountain. On the border. It's on Kipling.

The package covered all 6 of us and was called "Cosmic" Bowling.
I think the only thing cosmic about was the fact that the place was loaded with people, young people, little people, old people.

The little kids next to us had their own unique style of bouncing the ball off the bumpers.
It worked, I was doing so badly that for awhile I thought I might try it.

Everyone has a different style.
One lady walked up to the end of the lane and just dropped the ball, like it was just too heavy to swing. But it worked and if she got one down she was happy.

Maybe I'm a visual learner. I have to see it before it sinks into the brain cavities.
Kids are visual learners:

How do you learn?
By reading, doing, watching others?
I guess whatever works.
