Ever since the racist federal officer
Harry J. Anslinger and newspaper-and-timber baron William Randolph Hearst teamed up in the 1930's to persuade the public of the terrible threat of hemp cultivation, American government has persisted in breaking lives and committing a wide variety of human rights offenses in the name of drug prevention.
It's almost over. The truth is that everyone in the USA has smoked marijuana at one time or other, including the past five presidents of the United States. California, faced with a budget crisis, is considering legalization and taxation. Voters here in Colorado have repeatedly shown themselves either pro-cannabis or "don't-care".
So why is the Colorado Board of Health eager to
tighten up the medical marijuana program?
Like the lengendary King Canute, the Board of Health is ordering the tide to turn back. When the tide reached King Canute's chin, he ordered his courtiers to pick up his throne and carry him back to the palace.. Let's attend the hearings on the Tivoli campus of Metro on July 20th and see if the Colorado Board of Health can bow to the inevitable with as much grace as the 11th century Danish king.
