The Colorado Assembly, our state legislature, deals mostly with money. Where to get it and where to spend it.
This year the Assembly adjourned with a "fix" to the state's revenue woes that included an end-run around TABOR likely to be rejected by the courts.
The last fix was Referendum C. The Democratic and Republic con artists demanded "education money" from the public, which then went 25% ot education, 33% to prisons, and the rest was spent elsewhere.
The prison lobby is very strong in Colorado. The two-party system allows both the Republicans and the Democrats to pretend they are for education while actually following the bidding of the private prison lobbyists.
If you vote Libertarian this year, you are striking a blow against the Prison-Industrial Complex which has engulfed the Colorado budget process.
