Who are the Libertarians?

The Libertarian Party is America's and Colorado's third-largest political party. The website for the Colorado Libertarian Party is http://lpcolorado.org/ and the national party website is http://www.lp.org/. Libertarian registration numbers (always low compared to the two major parties) don't tell the whole story. Libertarians often come from Democrat or Republican backgrounds. Sometimes people who vote Libertarian maintain their registrations as Democrats or Republicans to participate in the primaries while voting in the general election for Libertarian candidates.

The Libertarians are the party of human freedom. Libertarians understand that government at every level has grown unmanageably large and rarely reflects in modern times the ideals of the Founders which Libertarians still hold dear.

We stand in opposition to the good cop - bad cop game played by the Democrats and Republicans. "Vote for me or that awful [Republican | Democrat] on the other side will be elected!!" is their war cry.

There Is Another Choice: Help Colorado free itself from the bipartisan consensus to raise taxes and take away our basic liberties. Remember that the Republicans and Democrats co-operated in a bipartisan fashion to give us:

  • The War on Drugs

  • The Iraq War

  • The U.S.A.-P.A.T.R.I.O.T Act

  • The new FISA bill that immunizes the telcos for breaking the law

Vote Libertarian this year!
