Musings, Rants and Ravings from the 2008 Libertarian Candidate for the district 25 seat in the Colorado House of Representatives.

Democracy Catches Lupus
Contributed by: Jack Woehr   on 7/24/2008

I call it the Security Sickness. We discard like old rubbish all the values of America because we perceive her as under attack. Bring in security! Don't ask questions! Don't ask how much it costs! Obey any order given you by anyone dressed in black ...

The Security Sickness is to the Body Politic like Lupus is to the Human Body.

Lupus is that disease where the body's immune system overreacts and attacks the body itself. You can't turn it off. It's going to protect the body if it has to kill every cell! Of course, while Lupus is paranoid and overreactive, the body is genuinely under outside attack. It's just that the disproportionate response destroys the host it is meant to save.

But I'm just ranting. Sorry, please ignore me, and prepare to watch your spouse strip for the security people at the airport ...

Excellent article. It is very scary how fast folks are willing to dump their freedom. The Nazi's came to power with the support of the people.
