America emerged from World War II as the only intact industrial economy in the world. That, and possession of massive military force insured our dominance of the post-war world.
Our enemies, lacking our resources, surpassed us in brutality to maintain their dominance in their regions of interest, much as Russia is doing with respect to Georgia in the present day.
Wealth accrued to a generation of Americans, my parent's generation, in amounts nearly unimaginable to these depression-raised individuals.
And how have three 1/2 generations since the emergence of American hegemony responded to Opportunity knocking?
- We have built many great and beautiful things.
- We have tested the limits of human freedom.
- We have dirtied our environment and are struggling to clean it up some.
- We have spent prodigiously on all these efforts, and
- We have spent our last cent on an overseas war.
In the present day, America is effectively bankrupt, in debt to our Chinese global competitors. There is no hope of ever repaying the principal, so America is destined either to:
- renegotiate our indebtedness to China
- become a tributary vassal-state to the Chinese Empire
- fight a war
This is the abyss of disaster to which the Two-Pary System has brought America. This fall, please vote Libertarian.
