Au Pair's in Evergreen Support Local Firefighters

10 local Au Pairs attended the Evergreen Big Chili festival in support of the Mountain Firefighters. Our local Cultural Care Au Pair coordinator has monthly mentoring meetings and we regularly explore cultural events like the BIg Chili. Last month we tried American Sushi at the new Evergreen Sushi restaurant. Our Au pairs are caring and committed, adventurous and educated young people from abroad. They are eager to experience American culture while sharing their own unique backgrounds. In exchange for the privilege of living in your home as a family member, they will provide you with up to 45 hours per week of personalized and loving childcare. In Evergreen we have au pairs from Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Czech Republic, Sweden and Panama.

If you need childcare in Evergreen, CO, the pickins' are slim. I am a mom of two and know how hard it is commuting to Denver and trying to get home in time to drive kids to tae kwon do and soccer. Had I only known how life could have been less stressful! If I had known about au pairs, the live-in caretakers hoping to trade their childcare experience for the chance to experience America, and how I could have had the opportunity to share other cultures with my kids, I would have jumped at the chance.

What can you do when your work hours are out of the normal daycare parameters? Au Pairs work a maximum of 10 hour days, but that can be split between early morning (getting them to school) and later in the evening (driving them to after school events and getting them to bed). It's popular when there is a Dr. in the family, for instance.
