Description:

If you have a child or grandchild or know of someone with a child with special needs (i.e. a mental illness), including mild disabilities which simply render them vulnerable, you should attend this workshop. You must make special provisions in your estate plan for that child. Join NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)Jeffco in proudly welcoming Steven R. Owens, J.D., Attorney at Law for an "informative and entertaining" unique presentation to our community members! Check out Steve's web site: www.mydenverlawyer.com to learn more.

Steve will address how you can: Identify the dangers facing your child and your estate plan; Ensure that there will be sufficient resources to care for your child for his or her entire life; Ensure your child's continued eligibility; Protect all of your loved ones' inheritance from lawsuit creditors, predators who prey on the disabled, denial of medical assistance; and more! Learn how you can effectively convey loving instructions about your hopes, dreams, and aspirations for those you love.

Bring your questions. NAMI Jeffco provides a safe, non-judgmental, comfortable and welcoming environment. We welcome family members and folks who have mental illnesses as well as others in the community who want to learn more, enabling us to break through stigma and improve quality of life we all deserve.
