Jefferson County Open Space
Weekend Volunteer Trail Days 2009
Volunteer to help build the trails you love to use!
Final Saturday:
October 10
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Requirements:
- Volunteers must pre-register at least 3 days in advance by calling 303-271-5922.
- Volunteers should be in good physical condition and able to hike 3-5 miles of mountainous trails and use a variety of gardening-type tools (shovels, picks, rakes, etc.).
- Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What to bring and wear:- Hiking or work boots that go over the ankle; no tennis shoes or sandals.
- Long pants are recommended
- Work Gloves
- Lunch and plenty of water (2 quarts minimum)
- Rain-gear
- Sunscreen and insect repellent recommended
- Toilet paper recommended
- A day pack to hold your stuff
Where to meet:- Volunteers will meet at the Jefferson County Open Space Administration Building, 700 Jefferson County Pkwy. in Golden
- Busses will leave promptly at 8:30 a.m., please arrive by 8:00 a.m. to get signed in and complete registration!
Open Space will provide:- A light breakfast of bagels, donuts, fruit and juice.
- All tools required for the project.
