Girl Scouts name Mt. Evans Hospice 'Hometown Hero'

Members of Evergreen's Girl Scout Troop #123 stopped by Mt. Evans Hospice & Home Health Care May 7 to drop off 120 boxes of cookies ... and present the hospice staff with the Hometown Heroes award for "making Evergreen a better place."

The cookies were donated by caring community members who bought an extra box or two with their own order and designated the troop's Hometown Hero as the recipient. Mt. Evans will share the cookies with patients and volunteers.

This is the fourth time Mt. Evans has received the "Hometown Heroes" award from a local troop. "It is such an honor to be recognized by the young people in our community," says Mt. Evans executive director Louisa Walthers. "And we are truly grateful to them and their kind customers for the delicious gift of cookies!"
