Evergreen Resident Parker Murphy to attend Northwestern University

Parker Murphy, son of

Paul Murphy, graduated from Colorado Academy (CA) on Friday, June 5, 2009.
Parker has attended CA since fifth grade. His favorite classes were chemistry and biology. Throughout his years at CA Parker has been in choir and voice every trimester, he branched out into acting and did many musicals and shows both inside and outside the school. He attended All-State choir his junior year, and is in the all male specialty choir group at CA. He is also a member of the competitive Artistic Performance Team at Rocky Mountain School of Dance. Parker played tennis every year until his senior year when he joined the dance team.
During high school, Parker served on the Community Leadership Team, mentoring freshmen and sophomores. He was a Co-Chair of H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat) an organization that feeds, clothes, gives toys, and makes the holidays happen for less fortunate families of the Denver Metro Area. This year was especially successful as the club served 1,200 people. He was also the President of the senior class and head of Faces of Diversity, the school's diversity club. Parker was awarded CA's Chris Babbs Leadership Award for 2009 and selected to be one of the class representative for the CA Alumni Association.
This fall, Parker is looking forward to attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois hoping to continue his studies in dance, musical theater, and chemistry.
