Mountain-area teens rock on Higher Ground

Over 75 teens and volunteers spent the evening celebrating the 8th Anniversary of Higher Ground Youth Coffee House in Evergreen.

Four Denver area bands-Fight the Good Fight, Rough Draft, Soulja, and Everfound entertained a packed house of area high school and college youth. Annie Troup, Higher Ground manager comments, "We really have something to celebrate tonight...for eight years we have been an awesome, safe venue for teens to listen to live bands or just hang out with friends. I used to attend as a student and now I volunteer as manager."

Higher Ground is a place where teens and young adults age 14 (HS)-22 can come together on Saturday nights from 7pm-11pm. They enjoy camaraderie, awesome live bands and great coffee drinks in a coffee house setting with no cover charge. The Coffee House is completely volunteer run and is a community outreach of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Evergreen.

For more information or to volunteer at Higher Ground, contact Linda Juntunen: 303-674-4130 or visit www.myspace.com/highergroundevergreen for a list of upcoming bands.
