KNITTING FOR NEWBORNS

You can do a lot with a little needle and thread. The Evergreen High School Knit Club's teacher organizers Kathleen Pearce and Kelly Wilhelm and students Lindsey Jackson, Sarah Lafrinere, Sarah Gilchrist, Jeremiah Goulding, Chase Loehnert and Faith Lierheimer dedicated their time and talent to the Newborns in Need charity, a national organization that takes care of sick and needy babies. The group visited Denver Health Hospital to deliver 81 hats, three pairs of booties and one blanket that they knitted on behalf of the newborns. The club will continue next school year and has decided to knit kennel blankets for mountain area animal shelters.
