Recycle that oil

Recycle that Oil

Our mountain community recycling center, located behind King Soopers at 1173 Colorado Highway 74, is now accepting used cooking oil for recycling! The oil is re-processed for use in agricultural products and biodiesel. Residents can bring, in containers of their choice, things like bacon drippings and deep fry oil between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and on Mondays between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Evergreen/Bergen Park restaurants interested in having Rocky Mountain Sustainable Enterprises (RMSE) pick up their used cooking oil may call 303-544-1500 to make arrangements.

Bergen Park Recycling Center has long accepted paper, newspaper, magazines, junk mail, phone books, aluminum cans (clean containers and foil), metal cans/small metal scrap, cardboard, glass bottles, plastic bottles, cell phones and computer cartridges. Adding oil not only protects our waterways from contamination, but avoids expensive repairs for clogged drains.

This is a significant addition to the community's proud tradition of reusing materials for their value as natural resources--rather adding those resources to the waste stream.
