August 23, the Life Care Center of Evergreen was transformed into an old-fashioned country fair.
The grounds held a cake walk, a duck pond, a wet sponge toss (at the administrator ) and a corn-shucking contest!
Residents were joined by staff members and home-schooled students from the Evergreen/Conifer areas and together they went through the fair.
An authentic atmosphere prevailed with the help of Bantam chickens, baby goatsand a couple of llamas, and the bluegrass music of Haneys' Homemade Jam kept everyone's feet tappin'.
The champion corn shucker was, fittingly,
Helen Miller who hails from thte Cornhusker State itself: Nebraska. Artsand crafts created by the residents were also on display for the less athletically inclined to enjoy.
There was something for everyone and indeed everyone went home witih some great memories.
