EChO Event raises over $2,500The Ice House Café Music Benefit for EChO was a resounding success, raising over $2,500 for neighbors in need in our mountain community, according to EChO Director Kristi Sigal. John Erlandson was the organizer and featured musician.
He was accompanied by others including Dave Lyon, Lisa Delia, Keith Riker, Bill George and local poet Padma Thornlyre. Echo Board member Randy Reznik harped in with his harmonica and Linda Ireland worked tireless to maintain the evening's orderly program.
"With so many more neighbors in need this year, EChO could not continue to provide food and short term financial assistance without all the support from the community.
Our thanks and gratitude go to all the individuals, community organizations and businesses who continue to remember EChO and the EChO Resale Shop, even as they themselves experience some challenging times right now", says Sigal.
The event was held March 20 th and was sponsored by The Mountain Foothills Rotary Club. Rotary President Jerry Lautigar, EChO Board member and Rotarian Bob Jones, and John Ellis of Evergreen National Bank were truly responsible for the over-crowded-
standing-room-only venue, where audience members listened to more than three hours of mountain music, folk rock, bluegrass and poetry. Downtown businesses Seasonally Yours, Zuni Signs, Caffe di Lucca and The Ice House donated items for auction, and a local fan, Jane Lynch, supplied baked goods that helped to raise additional funds for the coffers.
Special thanks to Ice House Café owners Charles and Cindy Shirley for opening their doors for this event. Many thanks also to Ice House Bartender, Valynne Beretich, and Bistro Blue bartender Dave Gallahue for donating all their hard earned tips from the evening.
