We are writing to invite you to participate in the Seventh Annual WestMuttster Dog Day Afternoon Dog Show to be held right here in your own backyard in Idaho Springs on May 31, 2009. We held our sixth annual dog show last year and had more than 150 doggie enthusiasts in an effort to raise money for medical expenses for the animals at our shelter! We hope to double our numbers this year and look forward to your support. We have been in contact with many local shops and restaurants to help sponsor this event and we have been fortunate to be sponsored by Clear Creek Radio! This dog show brings a great awareness to our community with regards to our domestic animals as well as provides a great time for the entire family with our hilarious events!

We have enclosed a list of our levels of sponsorship. We are asking you to review and consider a $100 - $200 donation. In order to successfully host a dog show of this size, our sponsorship contributions would need to total approximately $2000.

This dog show will benefit the Clear Creek/Gilpin County Animal Shelter, "Charlie's Place" in their efforts to provide adoption services for the community. This clean, modern facility is about as good as it gets for animal welfare, providing animals a great quality of life. The shelter also provides vouchers for low/income residents to assist them with spaying or neutering their pets. Charlie's Place is the only animal shelter serving Clear Creek and Gilpin counties. With a euthanasia rate of less than 2%, "Charlie's Place" is one of the lowest in the state. (The national euthanasia rate is 50% for dogs and 70% for cats!) Friends of Charlie's Place, working hand in hand with the shelter, provides fundraising services to assure that no extraordinary medical costs are incurred by the county and animals get the medical care they need, assuring that euthanasia rates are kept very low.

Last year, we had many businesses from Gilpin & Clear Creek counties and the Front Range area supporting the dog show and we are looking forward to adding your business to our growing list of sponsors. We are asking if your company will have resources to support this dog show for 2009. We hope to attract more dogs and their owners each year.
