Hiking Hounds Abound at Humane Society Dog Walk

The Intermountain Humane Society is teaming up with Motorhead Ranch to present their 2nd Annual Dog Walk fund-raiser on Saturday, June 27th, giving participants a unique opportunity to hike and tour the private section of Conifer's historic Meyer Ranch. So charge up your "IPawd", put on your walking shoes, grab your non-retractable leash and plan to bring your dog-friendly dog(s) for a 2-mile hike around the property, a gentle stroll around the pond or to just enjoy a fun day with the community!

Registration begins at 9am for a 10am start to the hike. Registration fees are Adults ($15) and Youth/Senior ($10) which includes a collectible IMHS Dog Walk numbered Race Bib, IMHS Dog Walk T-Shirt, IMHS Dog Walk "Curb Your Dog" Bandana and a goodie bag!

"Kicked To The Curb" (hence the "Curb Your Dog" bandanas!) will provide live music while you enjoy water dog rescue demonstrations, dog agility and flyball, horse-drawn trolley rides to and from the Yellow House complete with narrations thanks to the Conifer Historical Society (Evergreen Trolley provided by Rawhide Partners) and an opportunity to stock up on samples and goods from local vendors!

IMHS is hoping to build this event into the Mountain suburb version of the Denver Dumb Friends League's Furry Scurry and will be asking participants for suggestions to name the event going forward. Meyer Ranch provides the ideal setting for a mountain hound hike and it's a sure bet that you'll be part of history, literally, just by participating in this event.

The Intermountain Humane Society is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit charitable organization founded in 1982 to serve the Hwy 285 Corridor community and is committed to promoting a life-long bond between people and their pets and to providing care for animals in need.
