Mountain-area home and garden show at Conifer High

Spring is in the air....summer is just around the corner....and we all have our house and yard project lists....what better time for the MOUNTAIN AREA HOME AND GARDEN SHOW this weekend, April 28th - 29th, 10 am - 3 pm, at Conifer High School. Admission is free.

With over 50 exhibitors, free seminars throughout both days, a food court and free kid activities, there is something for everyone at the Mountain Area Home and Garden Show.

Erik Listou, CGR, CAPS, of "Remodeling with Erik" on KHOW 630 AM, will be at the show all weekend, and will broadcast his weekly radio show live from the show at noon on Sunday. Former Bronco Mark Jackson will be at the show on Sunday to sign autographs.

The Evergreen/Conifer/Bailey business community has a lot to offer its homeowners in terms of construction, remodeling and gardening services. The Mountain Area Home and Garden Show is a great opportunity for our local residents to see what products and services are available to us in our community. Stop by, walk around, and see the abundance of premier businesses located in the mountain area that are available for your own home or garden project, be it small or large.

The Mountain Area Home and Garden Show is a benefit for the Mountain Peace Shelter, formally known as the ParkCountyCrisis Center. The Mountain Peace Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter and a 24-hour crisis hotline to people in need in ParkCounty and mountain JeffersonCounty. Mountain Peace Shelterhas been serving the mountain communities since 1986 and there are no other shelters within a 50-mile radius. Their SafePets program, the only one in the state, helps pets stay safely with their owners.

This show is the brainchild of Teresa Kahler of Mountain Financial Mortgage and Ron Catterson of UBuildIt-Evergreen. Long-time area residents and business owners in Conifer and Evergreen, Teresa and Ron were frustrated that there was not an event where local foothills home and garden businesses could showcase their goods and services, so they organized one. Wanting to give back to the local community, Teresa and Ron decided to donate the net proceeds from the show to a local charity. They selected the Mountain Peace Shelter. Over $4,000 was raised for Mountain Peace Shelter at last year's show. The goal for this year is to raise $10,000.

So.....get that house and garden project list out.....and bring it with you to The Mountain Area Home and Garden Show ...and fix up your home or garden while at the same time helping reconstruct someone else's life at Mountain Peace Shelter. Hope to see you at the Mountain Area Home and Garden Show!
