Here today ... gone tomorrow!

The 285 Corridor is where all the construction is going on these days! And the Mountain Area Land Trust is offering an alternative to landowners who might want to save their land for future generations rather than sell to a developer. To make their presence known in that area, MALT is holding Conifer Tales and Trails -- its their first-ever cowboy poetry/Western music festival in September; and it's turned into a huge family event that will draw people from all over the area. But, as a first-time event, it needs every penny it can get at this stage of the game to ensure the best talent. Already Bill Barwick, Jon Chandler, Brenn Hill, Kip Callahan, and Pony Express have been booked! And a well-known headliner is in the works!

With more than 10,000 acres of preserved land in the first 13 years, MALT is working right now to preserve another 5,700 acres right in the 285 Corridor. There's more to save out there, but MALT does not go knocking on doors suggesting landowners not sell to developers or fighting developmenet. They do things in a non-adversarial way, making their presence known and providing assistance to anyone who might want to know more about the tax incentives that are available at the state and national levels for land to be preserved in Colorado.

Your $1,000 would do a lot to help them spread the word in the right area and help preserve the open spaces we enjoy today before they are gone tomorrow!
