Beat the July 4th Heat on the Firecracker Express

The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad's Firecracker Express is a great way to enjoy our nation's independence on board vintage train cars being pulled behind an historic steam engine. And, top it all off with the 2 nd Annual All American BBQ!

The train ride delivers passengers to the BBQ setting in Colorado's beautiful San Luis Valley.

Costs are:

$24.99 for one coach ticket, hotdog, chips and drink (upgrade to dome car for $10)

$79 for a Family Four Pack (four coach tickets, four hotdogs, four drinks, and four bags of chips)

$119 for Dome Family Four Pack (same offer as above, but with an upgrade to the panoramic dome car seats)

Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Trains depart in the morning from La Veta or Alamosa and return in the afternoon. La Veta is just 16 miles from Interstate 25 near Walsenburg and easily accessible from Colorado Springs (2 hours) and Denver (3.5 hours). The depot is less than one hour from Pueblo, Trinidad or various points in northern New Mexico. The town of Alamosa is near the Great Sand Dunes National Park on State Highway 160.
