Yesterday, Thursday the 18th, we looked out to see a tower of flame shooting 100 feet into the sky RIGHT NEXT TO THE MAIN PROPANE STORAGE TANK across 74 and to the south! What was that and why was that allowed in a heavily populated area with MANY BUSINESSES?
I called 911 and they said do not be concerned. Well, ANY OPEN FLAME NEAR A PROPANE STORAGE TANK is a reason to be concerned, especially if you are DOWNHILL from it and have OXYGEN EQUIPMENT around!
BTW, good work on the ED story and the 74 / King Soopers intersection story.
Refineries are MONITORED and have strict rules for venting and igniting gases. Are similar rules used here? We were lucky this time. We didn't make headlines.
