Finally, Something That Focuses on the B's and the E's, not the R's and the D's
All that mumbo jumbo coming out of Washington isn't delivering much for the B's or the E's, Business owners and Entrepreneurs that is. Well, the MRBES 5th Annual Economic Summit and Expo being held June 5th, 2009 at the Colorado Convention Center has something for everyone, Republicans and Democrats, Moms and Dads, brothers and sisters, and just about anyone else in need of some solid tips and tools for enhancing business, fine tuning a resume or marketing a product.
This year's event offers resource-filled workshops and seminars as well as one-on-one business counseling-there's even a mini job fair. It's packed with information attendees can apply immediately to their businesses or personal lives. Also, once attendees get a checkup for their business, they can get a check up for themselves at the mini health fair.
And there's more: Business owners who register for the event can also enter the Biz Makeover contest where one lucky winner will get a $25,000 Biz Makeover. The prize includes a brand assessment, a website assessment complete with a redesign and development, a review of the business' technology, executive coaching, a financial analysis and a business plan review. Judges for the contest include Greg Moore, Editor, Denver Post; Bruce Goldberg, Associate Editor, Denver Business Journal; Darrick Brown, CEO, Alternative Business Funding; Bart Taylor, Publisher, Colorado Biz Magazine; and Tamela Lee, Director, City and County of Denver Office of Economic Development. Business owners interested in the contest will need to submit their executive summary, strategic mission statement and other items for review. They can apply right online by going to www.mrbes.com/bizmakeover.html. Applications must be submitted by May 27th, 2009. The winner will be announced on June 5th at the event.
The 5th Annual Economic Summit and Expo offers a variety of activities. Randal Pinkett, the 4th Season winner of NBC's "The Apprentice" and CEO of BCT Partners, will keynote the luncheon. He will also join local dignitaries as a judge of for the event's Youth Apprentice competition. The competition challenges metro area students to propose a solution for the ever-increasing high school dropout rate. The winning team will win $1500 and other prizes. The public is welcome to view the Youth Apprentice competition on June 5th from 3:00-4:30pm in the Korbel Room at the Colorado Convention Center.
The event also features a vendor-filled Expo that's FREE for anyone who brings two nonperishable items to donate to the Colorado Aids Project. The organization will be onsite to receive the donations and answer questions about their work in the community.
