How did you get involved in this business? My husband George owned a kitchen and bath business in Northglenn. In between my nonprofit management positions, I would lend a hand in the business and ultimately became enamored with design while still being able to interact with and help people. In 1992, we decided to relocate The Kitchen & Bath Center locally since we lived in Evergreen.

What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category? As a result of our longevity, our repeat and referral business is phenomenal and we have every project archived from day one. Response times between initial meetings and follow-ups are typically within a week and we are very quick to be timely with client concerns and warranty issues. We pay attention to every detail. This is a family-owned business and our clients are like family to us.

What do you like best about your line of work? Every project is as unique as its owner! Since every project is different, this type of work is never dull or boring.

What is your business' biggest challenge?You must stay on top of all the changes in product offerings and be a valuable resource to your clients. This industry is constantly evolving and improving especially with advances in technology and lighting, and truly leading the way in the green movement. After all, when it comes to your family and home, a healthy environment is paramount.

The design business sounds quite glamorous but the final outcome is based on mathematics and the ability to conceptualize and visualize. One-eighth of an inch miscalculation can change the entire picture.
