The Evergreen Players celebrate Valentine's Day with one of the most touching stories of friendship, love and life ever told on stage.
A.R. Gurney's
Love Letters
, starring Lisa Decaro and Len Matheo, plays Wednesday, February 14 at 7:30 pm at Center/Stage, Evergreen. Tickets - $18 Adult, $14 Senior/Student, $8 Child (12 and under) - may be reserved online at
www.evergreenplayers.org
or by calling 303.674.4934. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.
This perfect Valentine's Day celebration can get even better. See
Love Letters
and you may win a "Romance Package for Two", which includes one free night at Highland Haven Creekside Inn and a couples massage from Tall Grass Spa.
Love Letters
tells the story of two childhood friends who begin a lifelong correspondence with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. This exchange of letters continues through the years, making it eloquently clear that although they are physically apart, these two friends are spiritually as close as only true lovers can be.
Husband-and-wife Len Matheo and Lisa DeCaro bring a wealth of experience to
Love Letters
. Lisa received her BFA in acting from USC, and spent the following years as a "working actress" in L.A. She recently appeared on Center/Stage as Rosannah in
Brilliant Traces
and Hedy LaRue in the Evergreen Chorale's production of
How to
Succeed in Business without Really Trying
. Other roles with the Players include Sylvia in
Sylvia
and Lee in
Marvin's Room
.
Len Matheo began his acting and directing career in New York City. After studying Theatre Arts at S.U.N.Y. New Paltz, he performed in many off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway productions, including the US Premiere of
The Hired Man
and Horton Foote's
Blind Date.
Len recently directed
Brilliant Traces
and appeared as J.B. Biggley in
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
His roles with the Players include: Dan in
Down the Road,
Captain Keller in
The Miracle Worker,
Linus in
Sabrina,
and Greg in
Sylvia.
The home of the Evergreen Players is Center/Stage, 27608 Fireweed Drive, Evergreen. Directions to Center/Stage may be found at
www.evergreenplayers.org
. The Center/Stage Box office opens one hour prior to performances.
