Flash Cadillac, Arvel Bird and Chris Daniels and the Kings headline weekend of free entertainment
Central City's Mine Tailings Music and Street Festival Sept. 1 through 3
Central City's famous historic mining district once again hosts a free weekend of outstanding live entertainment, featuring some of the nation's long time favorites, Flash Cadillac, Arvel Bird's "One Nation" and Chris Daniels and the Kings.
The weekend kicks off at noon, Sept. 1 with Riff Raff. At 2:30 p. m. As Is will take the stage with their pop rock sound. At 4:30 p. m. Conjunto Colores will fill the streets with their hot salsa band sound. And, at 6:30 p.m. the 50's and 60's are brought back as Flash Cadillac brings their nostalgic, high energy traditional Rock 'n Roll music to Central City's Main Street.
On Sept. 2 at 12:30 p. m., festivities will open with Jewell in the Rough, followed at 2:30 p. m. with local boys, The Jimmy Lewis Band. At 4:30 p. m. Main Street will rock to the sound of Funkiphino and at 6:30 p. m. Arvel Bird's Native American Music - "One Nation" will fill Main Street with his exceptional sound.
On Sept. 3 at 12:30 p.m., Central City wraps up its summer concert series with The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra, followed at 2:30 p. m. with Nelson Rangell, and at 4:30 pm the hot music of Phat Daddy. At 6:30 p. m. the country rock music of Chris Daniels and the Kings will have everyone on the dance floor.
The annual Mine Tailings Music and Street Festival provides free live performances from noon until dark in a one-of-a-kind Main Street entertainment setting.
Adding to the festival will be food booths lining Main Street serving popular favorites like grilled corn, barbecued turkey legs, funnel cakes and a host of other tempting delights! There will also be plenty of entertainment, restaurants and lively casino action in historic Central City where casinos are open from 8 a.m. till 2 a.m., seven days a week.
Parking is also no problem with our multiple parking areas and our newest addition, the Century Casino parking structure with more than 500 covered spaces. Parking is free, Main Street entertainment is free, so come to Central City and "Make A Little History Of Your Own!"
