Time is running out to purchase a raffle ticket from Evergreen Scholarship/Bootstraps!
Only 750 tickets will be sold, each costing $100. Odds of 750 to 1 are good for the two large prizes: A 2007 Mini-Cooper S and a GrandLuxe Rail Journey valued at $13,500. The raffle will be held at the Evergreen High School on Tuesday, September 25.
The raffle sponsored by "Bootstraps" will be the major fundraiser for the non-profit organization which provides scholarships and interest free loans to qualified students in the Evergreen/Confier areas. "Bootstraps" has raised money for qualified students for over 60 years and most of the college-bound recipients attend college in Colorado.
Co-President Barb Hadley stated, "Superior grades and community service are no longer exclusive qualifications that guarantee a senior will attend college. With the increasing cost of higher educaiton in Colorado and elsewhere, parents are often prohibited from funding their deserving students' higher education. With Bootstraps, those deserving students can obtain the education they want."
Last May, "Bootstraps" awarded more than $171,000 to 29 Evergreen and 28 Confier students. For more information on "Bootstraps" or to purchase a ticket, contact Barb Hadley at 303-674-4733.
