42nd Annual Evergreen Rodeo Kicks-Off with 'Buck Off' Competition
Local Celebrities Ride Mechanical Bull
Evergreen area celebrities will compete in a mechanical bull riding event as the 42 nd Annual Evergreen Rodeo kicks-off on Friday night, June 13. The 42nd Annual Evergreen Rodeo, traditionally held every Father's Day weekend, is one of the last small town PRCA-sanctioned rodeos in the country and one of the oldest events in the Rocky Mountain foothills community of Evergreen, Colorado.
Scheduled for June 13, 14 and 15, 2008, the rodeo kicks-off with the new bull riding events and a dance on Friday night. Saturday's festivities include a parade in downtown Evergreen in the morning, pre-rodeo events throughout the afternoon and the rodeo in the evening. On Sunday, the rodeo opens with the popular Muttin Bustin, a favorite for children ages 5 to 7, who are suited up in protective clothing and judged on how many seconds (up to eight) they can hang on.
The Evergreen Rodeo is sponsored by The
Canyon Courier and KYGO FM 98.5. Tickets, priced at $12 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12, can be purchased at select local merchants, the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce, and on-site on event days. For more information, visit EvergreenRodeo.com
