The Evergreen Players are pleased to announce their 57th season, featuring five productions that are timeless, tuneful, and hilarious searches for love and the truth of the human spirit. The 2007 season features: Romancing the Stage, A Very SpecialEvenings of One-Acts (January 19-20, January 26-27), Love Letters (February 14), Moon Over Buffalo (March 9 - April 1), I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change(July 6 - August 5), and Our Town (October 19 - November 11).

"We are thrilled to offer top-notch productions at an incredible value," says Players' president Kathleen Davis. "This season we will discover new works by young playwrights and explore great plays by modern masters. We ask serious - and not-so-serious - questions about American values and ideology, and we hope to reach out to our audiences with passion, humor and humility."

Season tickets are on sale now! Patrons save over 35% off single ticket prices when purchasing a season ticket. Seniors (60+), Students, and Youth (12 & under) save even more. As a subscriber, a season ticket entitles you to five evenings of theater. A $90 value! Adult Season Ticket: $65; Senior (60+)/Student Season Ticket: $50; Youth (12 & under): $25.

Romancing the Stage, A Very Special Evening of One-Acts
January 19-20, January 26-27
Brilliant Traces by Cindy Lou Johnson, The Players' Entry to the 2007 Colorado Theater Festival

As an Alaskan snowstorm rages outside, there is a desperate knocking on Henry Harry's cabin door. He opens it to find a beautiful woman, dressed in nothing but her sweat-stained bridal gown. Thus begins a beautifully crafted one-act play about a man and a woman who meet in the middle of nowhere, and are attracted and repulsed by turns as they undertake an incredibly passionate journey within the symbolic confines of a lonely cabin.

Five Nickels by Jack Neary, Directed by Linda Williams

Meet Ed Maloney, middle-age, single and shy. He's a Catholic usher and, on this particular Sunday, he is confronted by Catherine Barber, a 50-something widow who, after weeks and weeks of holding back, has finally determined to confront this lifelong bachelor with her true feelings- feelings which she has been expressing weekly in the church hallway in a very special, very subtle way.

Love Letters

February 14

One of the most touching stories of friendship, love and life ever told on stage, this incredibly moving evening of theaterwill be the perfect Valentine's Day gift. Two childhood friends begin a lifelong correspondence with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. This exchange of letters continues through the years, making it eloquently clear that although they are physically apart, these two friends are spiritually as close as only true lovers can be.

Moon Over Buffalo

A perfect piece of theatrical madness, this delirious comedy follows the antics of two aging actors with a second-rate acting company. Hilarious misunderstandings and madcap adventures ensue during this comic romp, where everything in the world that could go wrong, does! Mistaken identities, ridiculous miscommunications, slapstick antics, terrifying swordplay, and a stage set with six doors. Add an eccentric, near-deaf mother-in-law, a couple of love triangles, and a chance at stardom and all mayhem breaks loose!

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change

Our Town

October 19 - November 11

Change comes slowly to a small New Hampshire town in the early 20th century. People grow up, get married, live, and die. Milk and the newspaper get delivered every morning, and nobody locks their front doors. First produced and published in 1938, this Pulitzer Prize--winning drama of life in the small village of Grover's Corners has become an American classic and is Thornton Wilder's most renowned and most frequently performed play.
