A short break in the action and a strong sense of new direction has motivated us to invite some of our closest friends and fans to consider joining an SJB adventure. What's new, you ask?

Our vision is to enter into a new era for the Sharla Jackson Band. We are highly motivated to focus more on the creation and performance of music, as well as our mission of serving as a bright but gentle light in sometimes dark places all over Denver and beyond.

To begin, you've probably heard about a friend of Sharla's who recently decided to invest in the production of a new Sharla Jackson Band CD as our main sponsor. We hope to begin the song-writing and recording leg of our journey this month. We currently have three SJB CD's. Adding a fourth CD that contains mostly new originals will be an exciting, creative challenge for all of us!

In addition, SJB needs a new sound system!

Phil and Rob have been generously lending the band pieces of their own sound equipment, which has made gigs where we need our own system tricky and often demanding.

This summer we came to the conclusion that for the band to move forward with our music and our mission, we need to release Phil and Rob from carrying the weight of the technical side of SJB. This decision will free us all to concentrate on making the kind of music we feel called to create.

Wanna come along? If you feel inspired to do so, you can help in several ways.

First, SJB will be purchasing a sound system that more efficiently, effectively meets our needs. We will also begin the process of hiring the expertise of a sound engineer to lead the way in mixing our sound.

We're looking for a few friends who might want to invest with us and in us as we pursue this new course. Presently, we calculate that the system we need, along with adding a sound engineer this summer/fall will cost approximately $6,000.

Along the way, we also hope to forge a few carefully selected partnerships with individuals as well as possible corporate sponsors who might benefit from an official connection with one of Denver's hottest bands. Maybe you or a company with which you are affiliated would like to hear more about collaborating with us.

As a way of saying thanks for your donation, we would then love to give a concert on your behalf at your home or business. We would then promote our parter(s) through such channels as concerts, flyers, our web site, and more.

Since you have been a faithful fan, we wanted to invite you to join the continuing wild ride with Sharla and the Sharla Jackson Band. Think about it. Let us know this month if you might be interested in partnering with the SJB team beyond the level of fan and friend!
