WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A 35-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence-related harassment on Jan 5 at 12:18 a.m. after deputies received a 911 call from the residence on the 20000 block of Canterbury Circle in Evergreen. The husband said his wife pushed him, then she fell down and hit her chin. Although she refused medical attention after deputies arrived, while on the way to jail, she changed her mind and said she thought her jaw was out of line. Deputies took her to the hospital where an X-ray was taken and a doctor subsequently cleared her to go to jail.
WOMAN SEES MAIL RUSTLER
Deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of Martin Lane in Conifer on a report from a 33-year-old woman who saw a man in his mid-20s to late 30s looking through three different mailboxes at Martin Lane and Sullivan Drive on Jan. 6 at 9:04 a.m. She thought the vehicle he was driving was a brown Toyota or Subaru with a red plastic flag on the antenna. The deputies searched the area for 40 minutes, but did not find the alleged mail rustler.
DRIVING ON RUNNING TRACK BACKFIRES
Despite the sign posted that said "only authorized vehicles permitted beyond this point at any time," three 19-year-old men got their Toyota Forerunner stuck on the running track at West Jefferson Middle School at 9449 Barnes Ave. on Jan 9 at 12:05 a.m., When asked what they were doing, they said they were trying to find something to do. A second vehicle driven by another 19-year-old friend came to tow them out of the snow. Each man was charged with third-degree trespassing.
BURGLARY ATTEMPT IN MORRISON
A man called 911 on Jan. 3 at 5:15 a.m. to report a burglary at his residence on the 4000 block of South Taft Street in Morrison. He said he first heard a loud bang and discovered the front door open. A storm door glass was shattered and it appeared someone used force to gain access to the home. The man did not see any suspects, but said his vehicle had been parked in the driveway undisturbed for several days, which may have given intruders the impression no one was home. The case is under investigation.
