Jefferson County Sheriff's Office

BARTENDER POCKETS, THEN REPAYS CASH
On Dec. 7 at 1:37 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Spurs Bar and Grill, 14011 W. Quincy Ave. in Morrison. The owner said she had noticed the beer bottle inventory did not match cash sale records and had watched the video surveillance camera to see how employees were ringing up sales. She discovered her bartender was pocketing cash by ringing up a no sale then taking the cash. The owner said she confronted the bartender, who said she would pay the money back. The owner requested the deputy witness the payback and said she did not wish to pursue charges. The bartender said, "I didn't do it on purpose."

LICENSE CANCELED, OFF TO JAIL
On Dec. 7 at 12:30 a.m., a deputy observed a Chevrolet Blazer traveling southbound on Evergreen Parkway. The driver was weaving in the lane and crossed over the center line three times. After stopping the 23-year-old driver, the deputy noticed an alcoholic aroma and asked the man where he was coming from. He said he was coming from Central City, then said he was coming from "Teddies off 76." When asked where he was going, he said, "Back to Denver." A check revealed his license had been canceled. The man refused to do voluntary roadside maneuvers and was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. The passenger in the car

ALCOHOL NOT ALLOWED
On Dec. 7 at 12:30 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop at Evergreen Parkway and Douglas Park Road in Evergreen. The 23-year-old male was a passenger in a car that had been stopped because the driver was weaving, and subsequently taken to jail. The officer asked the man if he would be able to drive the vehicle away. He said he had some beer earlier but was not intoxicated. When a check revealed the man was a restrained party in a protection order with a stipulation that he not consume alcohol, the man was taken Jefferson County Jail.

CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION
On Dec. 9 at 5:42 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to contact a couple who had a business disagreement with someone at a residence on Upper Bear Creek Road in Evergreen. The man said on May 26 his wife was approached at their home in Huron, Ohio by a man asking her if she wanted a subscription to a magazine. The woman wrote a check to "American Cash Awards," which was cashed on May 30. Because the contract said it might take 120 days for the magazine to arrive, the husband was suspicious and called the company on June 4 to request a full refund. They said he would receive a refund in 15 days, but he said he had not received it and efforts to contact the company proved futile. The deputy went to the last known address of the company in Evergreen and contacted the building owner who said the owner of the Great Lakes Circulation company had not rented the building for two years.

PACKAGE EMPTY
On Dec. 10 at 6:17 p.m., a deputy contacted a 38-year-old woman regarding a theft. The woman said when she returned home at 6 p.m. she found a package had been delivered. When she examined the box, there was nothing in it. She said she was expecting a keyboard from Back to Basics. When she contacted FedEx, they said the keyboard had been delivered at 2:56 p.m. She was not sure if someone took the keyboard but wanted the incident documented.
