Jeffco Sheriff’s blotter: Shopper forgets to pay

SHOPPER FORGETS TO PAY

Deputies went to the King Soopers on the 1100 block of Bergen Parkway Jan. 22 at 11:15 a.m. on a shoplifting call. The security guard had a woman in her office who could be seen on the video surveillance tape walking through the store and placing items in a black bag. She left the store and was confronted in the parking lot by the security guard. She said she received a phone call while she was shopping from one of her clients who requested her services as a massage therapist. She explained she also was picking up medication for a friend. She was given a summons for theft.

NO TURN ON RED LIGHT
On Jan. 12 at 11:19 p.m., a deputy saw a truck traveling southbound on Evergreen Parkway near Bryant Drive. The driver ignored the No turn on Red warning sign at the intersection. While one deputy spoke to the driver, the other asked the passenger for his identification. After a check that revealed the passenger had an active warrant for his arrest, the deputy conducted a search and found a baggie with marijuana. The man said, "That's not mine, I was holding it for my friend." The man was issued a summons for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

LOOSE DOGS
On Jan. 23 at 4:50 p.m., a deputy was advised of a disturbance involving two dogs at large on the 27500 block of Mountain Park Road. Animal Control had been called but the individual wanted to speak to a deputy. The woman said two large friendly dogs wandered on to her property. She said she was concerned for their safety and called the number on their tags. The owner said it was OK, the dogs knew where to go. Then she talked to the husband of the woman and he said he would come get the dogs. When the couple came to get the dogs, the reporting party said they were rude and hostile. When the deputy spoke to the dog's owner he said the caller told him he had 30 minutes to come get the dogs or he would take them to the pound. He apologized and said he was going to install an invisible fence.
