Jeffco Sheriff blotter: Thief strikes on Fireweed


MAILBOX DAMAGE ON SHADOW MOUNTAIN
On Feb. 7 at 9:03 a.m., a deputy responded to a damaged mailbox call on the 28300 block of Shadow Mountain Drive in Conifer. The female resident said sometime between 9 and 10 p.m. on the previoius night she heard a loud bang coming from the end of the driveway. She went outside, but didn't see anything. That morning she discovered a large dent in the mailbox which looked like blunt force trauma had been applied. She had no idea who would have caused the damage. The deputy drove around the neighborhood, but found no similar occurrences.

THIEF STRIKES ON FIREWEED
On Feb. 7 at 9:22 a.m., a deputy went to the 28400 block of Fireweed Drive on a report of a trespass to a motor vehicle. A man's 2004 Ford SUV and his wife's 2005 VW sedan were parked behind their house. When the man went to his car to get his cell phone, he realized someone had taken his phone and his I-pod Nano. Someone had entered his wife's car as well and stolen her cell phone. Both vehicles were unlocked The man said between 1:10 and 1:20 a.m., he heard his dogs barking and the motion detector light outside went on. He thought the cougar in the area lately had triggered the lights. The deputy checked with the neighbors to see if they had been victims, but none had.

HOUSE EGGED ON SOLITUDE LANE
On Feb. 9 at 5:24 p.m., a resident on the 1300 block of Solitude Lane in Evergreen told deputies he had been out of town from Feb. 5 to Feb. 8. He said at 3 p.m. Feb. 8 he noticed something on windows in the back. When he checked he found five to six eggs had been thrown at the house. He said he had already cleaned up the egg and said he didn't know who might have thrown the eggs.
