Fight at campsite
After receiving a phone call about a fight at Wellington Lake, a deputy went to 21833 Stoney Pass Road in Conifer. As he entered the camp site, a man leaving the campgroyund said he heard a fight going on between several men. At 2:20 a.m. two deputies arrived on the north side of Wellington Lake. After talking to a man who said he was tired of hearing scraming, they walked to a camp site littered with beer bottles. One man was sleeping in a tent another was outside the tent. Both men had bloody noses and other injuries. A witness said there was a birthday party earlier and one the two so called friends were together. The man in the tent said he was punched by the other man and was defending himself. The two men admitted an intimate relationship. After the witness confirmed that one of the men was rude to the other all night, one man was arrested for 3rd degree assault. The other man was arrested on an outstanding warrant. They were taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
Disroderly conduct
On Aug. 15 at 7:17 a.m., a deputy responded to a felony menacing call on County Road 73 at North Turkey Creek Road in Evergreen. A woman said she was driving westbound on North Turkey Creek Road in front of Marshdale Elementary when she saw a dead goose in the road. She stopped to move it when the drive of a Jeep Warngler honked at her. She admitted "flipping off" the driver when he went around her, then drove slowly as he continued north on County Road 73. As he drove she observed the man hold up a small black knife as if to show it to her. She followed him and got his plate number, but decided against pursuing charges. Deputies checked the area for a the Jeep but could not locate it.
Illegal dumping
On Aug. 15 at 8:16 a.m., a deputy went to the 9800 block of South Deer Creek Road in Conifer to speak with a couple who said sometime between Aug. 9 and Aug. 14 someone dumped dead Juniper bushes and landscaping trash on their property without permission and that it was not the first time this had happened. They wanted the incident documents so they could present the situation to the county when they applied for a permit to put up a fence. The deputy checked out the lot by driving south on South Deer Creek Canyon Road and observed a pick-up size load of dead junipers. The deputy suggest the couple sink metal posts in the ground and put a chain across the driveway to discourage people from driving on to the lost. The man said he would contact the county.
