The new Walgreens at 3501 Evergreen Parkway has been silent.

After all the construction gear was packed up, the asphalt poured, parking lines striped it appeared ready for business. But it sits

Several white trucks appeared in the parking lot.

Carol Hively, spokesperson for Walgreens said on July 25
"We do plan to open in August."

She said the delay had to do with completions with the construction.

She did not want to go into details about the delay and said, "We don't go into the details of our relationships or problems."

Hively said Walgreens end of the fiscal year is August. "We like to get all the stores open at that time."

Hively said people had been hired.

Waiting for.... People who will accept the low wage jobs they will offer... Some interviews...but quite a few haven't been back...
