Jefferson County Sherif'f's Office

BURGLAR TAKES CIGARETTES
Deputies responded to the Evergreen South Cafe, 7000 County Road 73 on June 4 at 12:08 a.m. The owner was contacted and he said he received the alarm but thought the fryer had set it off so he told the alarm company not to call the police. Upon further inspection, deputies and the owner discovered someone had kicked the rear doors and broken the jambs. The owner said three cartons of cigarettes were missing and estimated the damage to the doors at $500.

CYCLIST SAYS 'WE'LL GET YOU'
On June 4 at 9:35 a.m., a deputy was contacted by a man who said he was pulling out of the parking lot of Evergreen National Bank, 28145 Colorado 74, on June 3 when several bicyclists were riding in the road. He said he almost hit them. He admitted instead of apologizing, he became upset and told them to "stay out of the road." On June 4 a person on a bicycle approached his home. The cyclist said he was checking the man's car to see if it was the same vehicle that almost ran him over and commented, "We'll get you," and rode away. The man described the cyclist and said he wanted the incident documented.

DRIVER, CYCLISTS EXCHANGE
On June 6 at 11:39 a.m., a deputy went to Conifer on a disturbance call between a driver and a bike rider. The deputy spoke to the man in the vehicle who said he was driving northbound on Pleasant Park Road and came upon two cyclists. He honked and later exchanged words with the cyclist and drove away. He said as he drove away one of the cyclists displayed an obscene gesture and spit on his car. The cyclists were contacted, but no summonses were issued.

NEIGHBORS HAVE HISTORY
On June 7 at 4:50 p.m., a deputy went to the 26400 block of South End Road in Kittredge in response to a neighbor dispute. A man who lives in the upper side of a duplex said the female occupant of the lower side had placed a trash can in front of his dryer vent, causing it to overheat. Documented reports between the two residents showed disputes have occurred over two years. The woman said she was afraid of the man and complained about his children playing in front of her living room window. The deputy asked the woman to remove the trash can.

CATS LEFT IN GARAGE
A woman called the sheriff on June 9 and said, "I returned from vacation and found 16 cats in my house." She said she hired another woman to clean house for her while she was gone. The woman said, "I think she left the cats in the garage." Animal Control was called and they picked up 14 cats. The resident found two more cats the next morning.
