Jeffco to host H1N1 clinics
Priority groups encouraged to bring consent form
Jefferson County Public of Health announced it will hold H1N1 clinics at four Jefferson County high schools on Nov. 21, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at West Jefferson Middle School in Conifer. To see a list of schools and locations, visit

Children and individuals at risk for developing complications from the H1N1 influenza are encouraged to attend. Quantities are limited.
Children 6 months to 4 years of age, children 5 to 18 who have chronic medical conditions, pregnant women and people who live with children younger than 6 months as well as healthcare personnel are priority categories.
JPH communications director Nancy Braden said people should be prepared to wait in line and dress for inclement weather. Vaccine will be given on a first-come first-served basis. When the vaccine runs out, the clinics will close
"We hope people will understand the need to get initial supplies out to those at highest risk of developing complications. The clinics will be on an honor system. We hope people will adhere to priority group categories," said Braden.
So far JPH has received 25,000 doses. Each week the county receives more Beginning Nov. 21, Braden said, "We will hold our first clinic for those who are unable to get it through their providers. We hope to vaccinate a total of 20,000 people on Nov. 21 at five school locations."
