Jefferson County Public Library is proud to welcome Rick Steves, best-selling author of Europe Through the Back Door and host of Rick Steves' Europe, to its sixth annual InSight & InPerson Distinguished Author Series on Monday, Dec. 7 at the Mile Hi Church in Lakewood. Rick Steves is the best-selling author of more than 30 European travel books and the host, writer and producer of the popular public television series Rick Steves' Europe. He recently launched a weekly public radio program, Travel with Rick Steves.
The Dec. 7 program begins at 7 p.m. with a presentation by Steves, followed by a question-and-answer session and a book signing. An author's reception with Steves will take place at 5:30 p.m. and gives guests the opportunity to mingle with the author. Tickets to the reception are $40 each or two for $75 and can be purchased online.
"We are proud to be one of the few libraries in the country to offer residents the opportunity to see best-selling authors for free," said Executive Director Marcellus Turner. "Rick Steves is an exciting, nationally recognized author we are pleased to bring to the JeffersonCounty community."
Insight & InPerson began in 2004 with Joyce Carol Oates; it welcomed more than 800 people to Amy Tan in 2005; Sue Monk Kidd in 2006; Alexander McCall Smith in 2007; and Anne Lamott in 2008. The series is made possible with the help of the Jefferson County Library Foundation and local sponsors.
