Immigration agent responds. On Oct. 15 a Jeffco Sheriff's deputy stopped a driver on eastbound U.S. 40 at mile marker 250 doing 45 mph in a 25 mph zone. There were seven people in the car. The driver said he was transporting them to Denver. They said they had crossed into the U.S. from Mexico in Arizona and were seeking work in Colorado. An immigration agent was summoned and the individuals were taken into custody.
Cell phone stolen during wedding festivities. A woman attending a wedding reception in Evergreen at the Hiwan Golf Club30671 Clubhouse Lane, told Jefferson County deputies her cell phone was stolen while she was at the reception. Since the phone belonged to her employer she was able to provide the serial number. It was entered into records as stolen property Oct. 20.
Littering, trespassing in Conifer. On Oct. 16 at 12:42 a.m., a Jeffco deputy went to the Pine Junction Country Store in Conifer, 34375 U. S. 285. In a driveway with a No Trespassing sign posted, a man said two men began unloading construction debris. When he confronted them they fled in their vehicle, leaving construction trash on the road. The deputy said he would pursue them and the man said he wanted to pursue charges for trespassing and littering.
On Oct. 18 Jeffco Sheriff's deputies went to the 19423 No. Turkey Creek Road to the West Ranch Grill, where an employee said a large inflatable Corona bottle had been dragged behind the building by two men. When asked what they were doing they said, "We're taking this bottle." When the employee said, "No, you're not," one of the men said, "We work for Corona, we're taking this." The two men drove off with the bottle. The bar employee got a license number and deputies later called the vehicle's owner. The bar owner said she would press charges if the bottle was not returned.
On Oct. 14 a Jeffco sheriff deputy went to the4800 block of S. Robb St on a trespass to a vehicle. A man said he was watching the residence for a friend and discovered the soft top of the his Jeep was unzipped. The center console had been unlocked and the contents disturbed. A satellite radio and four CDs were missing. Two bottles of Oxycontin and Oxycodone pills were on the floor of the Jeep. The deputy took photographs.
Vandals leave footprint in flour. Jeffco Sheriff's deputies responded to the 10 block of Mountain Willow Drive in Ken Caryl Oct. 17 at 12:47 p.m. where a woman showed the deputies her tennis court where chocolate syrup, jam and an oily substance had been spread across the south side of the tennis court. The deputy lifted a footprint of a Vans tennis shoe. The woman had no suspect information.
Marriage dispute at mall. Deputies went to Southwest Plaza, 8501 W. Bowles in Littleton about a disturbance between a couple who were arguing at a jewelry store. The woman said there was no physical altercation. She had moved from the Philippines to marry the man five months ago and now she wanted a separation. The deputy gave the woman some numbers to call and the man left the mall.
