Taming the Threat of Wild Fires -Tuesday, April 25
EVERGREEN FIRE DEPARTMENT TO HOST WORKSHOP FOR MOUNTAIN
RESIDENTS TUESDAY, APRIL 25 AT EVERGREEN UNITED METHODIST
CHURCH
If you had only five minutes before
leaving your home forever, what would you take? In May 2002, many
of our Evergreen neighbors were faced with that devastating
question, as an early season wild fire raged out of control on
Black Mountain. Luckily, after three days of mandatory evacuation,
the homes in the area were spared, but the residents of Evergreen
and surrounding areas were left with a new sense of urgency to
create "defensible spaces" near their homes. Please join Einar
Jensen, Evergreen Fire Department Community Education Director, for
"Taming the Threat of Wild Fires" Tuesday, April 25, from 6:30 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m. at the Evergreen United Methodist Church, 3757 South
Ponderosa Drive, Evergreen, Colo. Mr. Jensen will provide an
educational overview of the wild fire threat in Evergreen and
preventative measures that all homeowners can take to reduce that
threat now. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to attend
this important workshop - it could save their home, and yours!
