Alcohol suspected in I-70 rollover


On Jan 9 at approximately 3:04 a.m. Troopers responded to the eastbound lanes of I-70.

A black 2004 Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound on I-70. The vehicle failed to negotiate a right hand curve and went off the left side of the roadway onto the center median. The vehicle rolled one time and came to its final rest within the center median on all it wheels facing south.

The restrained driver has been identified as Nicolas S. Ruba, 23 of Craig, CO. Ruba sustained serious bodily injuries and was airlifted from the scene and transported to St. Anthony's Central.

The unrestrained passenger has been identified as Michael A. Blakeway, 23 of Craig, CO. Blakeway sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Anthony's Central Hospital by ambulance.

Speed is not suspected as a contributing factor, however alcohol may have contributed.

This incident is still under investigation
