Denver Breed Specific Legislation for Denver And Aurora has been in effect since 2005. Since that time over 1,700 family pets were picked up directly from their homes by animal control officers or surrendered to shelters to to be killed. some dogs have even beed apprehended from family homes at gunpoint by police, just like a felon would be.
Can you imagine having your dog taken by police with guns drawn???? This is happening right here in Denver! Please watch the following youtube video for a very real education in" what happens" when these types of laws come into effect. The final outcome for so many of these dogs and the families that once loved them.My special Thanks goes out to the young man who made this...It is a very sobering reality of what this insane law is doing. Breed Specific Legislation has torn apart family's lives, having to allow a government to kill their family pet, who has done
nothing wrong, expect be born , and show up wearing the wrong outfit. Hey, I am
all for a law that address's vicious dogs in general, so that each dog is dealt with as it's own entity. But I am not for any law that picks out one breed and decides they all have to be killed. The dog ban adds an extra burden on our already over crowded shelters, walk into many of them and they will be full of these dogs who are caught in the BSL noose. These are dogs that were once family pets, just like yours and mine, except
they have been targeted as an entire breed and deemed to death if they happen to live in Denver or Aurora. After watching this video you may have the urge to contact the mayor to let him know you too are
