I read this story and my heart sank. Maybe because it's Christmas time and I know my house is already full of foster dogs and my own dogs too. I hope that Chef finds a very wonderful loving person for Christmas, that is my wish! So, I thought I would share this with you, maybe you know someone who is looking for their own "personal chef"?...

Why? I was thought to be not very social or loving because I was misunderstood. It was found that I have quite a bit of pain, so touching is not pleasant.
I really do want to be part of a loving home that can offer me an area I can call my own when down time is needed. But I do enjoy knowing that you are nearby to take care of any needs I may have. Walks? My current foster mom has a hard time putting on my harness because I dance, and yes, sing (bark)with happiness. My hips bother me if I walk too many miles, but it doesn't take long before I am ready to get out in the fresh air again. There are other dogs in my foster home, and it is great to hang out or walk with them, as long as they give me some space.
Living in the shelter for so long, there are situations that make me feel uncomfortable.Those are the moments when I need to learn how to handle it or be taken from the situation, so no harm comes to anyone. My current roommates are two cats. We have an agreement, they won't bother me, if I don't bother them. Kittens make me uncomfortable because they can be so pesky.
I still have so much to do and learn in this world outside of the shelter. I have gone through the CHAMPS program that MaxFund offers, and they know how smart I am. It will take some time for you and I to know each other, but I can offer you companionship on our walks, a nudge on your hand to let you know I love you.
