It's a time of transition for Sharla Jackson
Contributed by: Sharla Jackson on 7/15/2008

Well hello all you wonderful people....

I have been putting off writing this because I am not even sure what to say at this point. As many of you have noticed, the Sharla Jackson Band has been pretty "quiet" lately. I guess I would best describe it as a time of "transition."

A few weeks ago, Phil (our beloved guitar player...loyal SJB member from the very beginning in 2000!) decided it was time to move on. We respect his decision...and we wish him only the best. We are so thankful for the eight years that we had with him...and for all that he contributed to the band.

However...after losing him, the rest of us sat down and had a pow-wow...trying to decide in what direction we wanted to go at this point....and the bottom line is, we don't have any answers. So...we decided to just wait it out...think about it...pray about it...and in the mean-time, we have canceled most of our gigs for the rest of the year... FOR NOW!

I have felt that some "big" change was coming for about the past 10 months, so I am not surprised, and I truly have such a peace and excitement about what the future holds! Because Phil was the one who designed and ran our web site, I'm not sure how much longer it will be up...but IF you go to the site, and it is no longer there, you will be automatically redirected to my myspace which will be kept updated on a regular basis.

I don't know what's in store for me...or the rest of the band....but I DO know that this is definitely happening for a reason...and I DO know that I am NOT done singing....and I believe with all my heart that I am in Good Hands! I also know that I have been incredibly blessed with the most wonderful, amazing, loving, supportive fans in the world....I love you all very much...thank you for all of your support these past eight years!!!

Okay...so you have one final opportunity to hear me perform:
Evergreen Summerfest at Buchanan Park July 20
from
1:10 PM-1:40 PM
free

You can also come hear me sing the National Anthem at the Colorado Rockies game on Aug. 13 at 7:05 p.m. If you are there, I would love to meet up with you at Gate C at the top of the third inning.

Again...thank you so much for being the coolest fans/friends in the world....
If you get future emails from me, they might be coming from a different address, so check your SPAM box occasionally.
I love you all!!

P.S. If you want to reply (and of course I always love hearing from you), it will go directly to me personally.
