Sopranos in OZ
Contributed by: Rob Weber on 2/25/2007

I went to the CU - Kansas St. basketball game 2/24 and what jumped out at me more than anything was the thuggish and imtimadating presence Coach Huggins and his assisants had.

Granted Huggins has a very impressive record. 12 consective NCAA Tournment appearances, 3 Time Conferance USA Coach of the year awards, 3 Time National Coach of the year awards by different news agencys and on and on.

But image is everything. Looking at old articles written about the Cincinnati Basketball program, Thuggish hue over Basketball program, had been on probation and suffered sanctions. Players in almost constant trouble with police on and off campus. Huggins gets a DUI and School President Nancy Zimpher said enough was enough bought out his contract and sent him packing.

Doe's K-State want to or need to win that badly to bring in a Coach and Staff with such a dubious background to compete with Kansas. It won't be long before K- State resembles the Bearcats with mostly a criminal element on the team.

The Big Twelve don't need the headache. After the mess Barry Switzer made out of the Sooner Football Program and the time it took to righten the ship the Conference dosn't need to go through it again only in Basketball.

In short send Huggins and his Crew back to coal country where they belong before Kansas St. and the Conference looses face.
