Basketball flurry Cougars and Lobos
Contributed by: David Harvey on 2/16/2008

It was a great night as weather went, warm and clear and allowed easy travel from Conifer High over to Evergreen High. On this Tuesday, February 12 it is the ultimate match up between these two rivals,

Varsity Basketball. On this evening the gym filled to standing room only with parents, students and fans. This crowd would be treated to two games back to back boys varsity first then the girls varsity followed. The boys took to the court at 6 p.m. and it was a battle from the tip off. Back and forth went the scoring as did the players, they all played as if it were the state finals.

But ultimately Conifer "Lobos" won out over the Evergreen "Cougars" with a final score of 45 to 38. Then the girls took to the court and the scenario was the same as was with the boys it was an all out romp up and down the court. The lady "Cougars" took command early on and they never let up, the "Lobos" were no match against them. When the Evergreen starters were in they scored at will and defended their hoop very well and it was much different when the second string was put in either, the final score for the ladies 62 to 24 for the "Cougars"! This was a great night of basketball for anyone that was there for either or both games!
